Tramontana In Oban Yachts Marina (Aft)

My brother, John, and nephew, Tilo, flew in from Switzerland as I spent my second Oban day tidying up the boat. They arrived at 8 pm to find Chilli Con Carne with rice on the saloon table. The following day started, as forecast, with strong winds - a rather good excuse to not stir until 11 am. The wind lessened sufficiently mid-afternoon to prompt John to go for a “quick run on Kerrera”. This turned into an epic adventure as the wind strengthened to Force 8, and John took a wrong path. Many hours and several peat bogs later he returned very wet and cold. Pizza and beer in Tramontana's cozy cabin revived him as gusts of 45 knots (Force 9) rocked the boat. Out at sea it was Force 10.
