| | Laxey Bay and Harbour
Laxey bay and its Harbour, half way between my anchorage at Maughold Head and Douglas Head looked charming; a place to visit on another day for I was planning a night at anchorage in Derby Haven, at the southern end of the Isle Of Man. However, when I got there a Force 4 was blowing from the South-West, the perfect wind for a fast night passage across to Carlingford Lough, a large sea inlet between the North and South of Ireland. As the night deepens, there is too much wind; Force 5 with a change of direction that necessitates beating into it. The sea is lumpy, the swell building, and increasingly I'm thinking that the smart more is to give up heading south and turn and run with it north,
to Belfast.
